Anderson County is the latest in the area to institute a burn ban. County commissioners approved the 90 day burn ban at yesterday's meeting.

The ban went into effect Monday afternoon at 3:00. It will remain in force until 3:00pm November 12th, unless it is lifted earlier. The dry conditions in the county caused the commissioners to take action.

The burn ban prohibits outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Anderson County. Violators of the ban will be cited by law officers.
