An Angelina County grand jury indicted an accused Zavalla stalker this week who threatened by text message to cut a Lufkin woman’s throat and dump her body in Lake Sam Rayburn.

After hearing evidence in the case, the grand jury moved to indict 36-year-old Eddie Bryan on a charge of stalking, according to court records. According to previous reports, Bryan began texting the 39-year-old married woman, an acquaintance, on June 28 with sexually explicit messages. When the woman showed her husband the messages, he sent one back to Bryan telling him that he was her husband and to stop, angering Bryan. That is when the text messages became violent and Bryan threatened to “cut her throat and put her in Lake Rayburn.”

An Angelina County Sheriff’s Office investigator worked around the clock to identify the woman’s stalker. Two days later, the investigation led him to Bryan’s Zavalla home after using cell phone towers to locate him.

Bryan was taken into custody and his cell phone was collected as evidence, previous reports stated.

Bryan appears to have a criminal history with similar behavior, the investigator said in a previous article.
