Annual Tyler golf tournament supports local boy scout troups
Tyler, Texas (KETK) — Tyler, Texas, July 20, 2014 - The East Texas Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America is hosting The Annual East Texas Tenderfoot Golf Classic on the morning of Monday, July 21, 2014, at Hollytree Country Club in Tyler.
The East Texas Tenderfoot Golf Classic is the premiere event to support the growing Scouting program in East Texas. The East Texas Area Council covers seventeen counties in East Texas and serves over 7,000 youth by fostering the development of character and integrity through fun and adventure. The Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Venturing, and Exploring programs offer area youth the opportunity to participate in activities that will provide a character-based learning foundation for leadership that they will utilize throughout their lives.
Proceeds will be put to work providing important programs and services that enable Scouting to serve young people. The Tenderfoot Classic is a core funding element for the Council that provides the necessary finances to maintain our facilities at Camp Pirtle, provide program supplies and ensure fun and affordable activities for all youth.
