WINONA - In November the wet-dry vote is coming to a polling place near you, that is if you live in Winona.
The new election comes after seven people who voted were found to be ineligible to vote in the last election.
As if tying the vote back in May with 94 votes for and against the proposition to allow the sale of alcohol for off-premise consumption into Winona wasn't enough drama, now there will be a second vote in two months.
Yesterday, a visiting judge decided a new vote was necessary because he couldn't determine how the seven ineligible voters actually voted.
Back in May, although there was a tie vote, the proposition did not pass because a majority was needed for it to pass.
Many people who are in favor of winona staying dry believe a re-vote isn't necessary and the votes should just be thrown out, but others believe having a re-vote is the best way to be fair.
"I don't know why we're having a re-vote, but we look forward to it. We'll let the people of Winona decide what they're going to do," Ken Good says.
"They should just throw out the ones that weren't eligible, don't count them. However it goes, it goes," Dewey Choate says.
"If that's what they want to do, that's what they want to do, I don't see a problem with it. I voted yes for it the first time, I'll probably vote yes for it again," Javier Charles says.
If you live in Winona, you need to know the election is November 3rd.
Only those who live in Winona city limits are eligible to vote.
Early voting is at the Winona administration building starting October 19th.
We tried speaking with Winona city officials, they said no one is allowed to comment.
