Another suspect has been arrested on charges related to the battery thefts that have been occurring in Cherokee, Angelina, Houston and Nacogdoches Counties.

Justin Ray Pinckard, 23, from Jacksonville, was arrested on July 12, 2012 and charged with one count of theft, a State Jail Felony.

Cherokee County Det. Joey Ray was able to obtain video footage of Justin Pinckard and Ricky Schakosky (who was arrested on June 27th) at a local recycler as they dropped off 18 industrial batteries, weighing approximately 1,500 pounds.

The weight of the batteries can be seen in the video of the car they used to haul the batteries in the back seat and trunk.  As the car is backing up to the loading dock, the rear of the vehicle is inches from the ground.

Bond for Pinckard was set at $7,000 by Justice of the Peace Brenda Dominy for the State Jail Felony.

Other charges may still pending from Cherokee and adjoining counties as the investigations continue.

The first suspect in the battery thefts, 26 year old Ricky Lee Schakosky, was arrested on June 27th.
