Two East Texans are dead this afternoon after an apparent murder/suicide in the Flint area on Friday night.

Smith County authorities tell KETK, 53-year-old James Milton Malone and his wife Karen Malone were planning on getting a divorce.

Karen called the Smith County Sheriff's department to tell them she was planning on going to her soon-to-be ex-husband's house on FM 2661 to get some paperwork.

Deputies advised her not to go if he was there.

She didn't think he would be, so she went.

When a Smith County deputy called Mrs. Malone and she didn't answer, the deputy went to check on her a little after 6 PM and found them both on the ground with gunshot wounds.

Her husband had apparently shot her..and then turned the gun on himself.

Mr. Malone was pronounced dead at the scene -- and Karen Malone died later Friday night at a Tyler hospital.

He was a drunk that didn't care about anyone but himself....He KILLED My Aunt who left behind two beautiful daughters (who were also her best friends), 3 precious grandkids, 3 sisters and several nieces and nephews that all LOVED her so much. This has been the worst thing you can imagine. Please keep our family in your prayers for God is the only thing that’s going to get us through this horrible tragedy

No telling how much harm this mans actions will cause all men in Smith county subject to the paranoid, lunatic divorce judge, Carole Clark.

OMG SO SAD THAT THIS HAPPENS IT MAKES SOMEONE WONDER WHATS REALLY GOING ON TO PEOPLE THESE DAYS.. ECONOMY MAYBE WHO KNOWS JUST SO SAD I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT PEACE WILL COME TO EVERYONE.
