Lufkin ,Tx — The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has denied a new trial for a Lufkin man convicted of killing his unborn twins.
Gerardo Flores, now 26, has been in prison since he was 19, after being found guilty of capital murder by an Angelina County jury in 2005. In the motion for an appeal, Flores claimed his defense attorney, Ryan Deaton, was ineffective by failing to present the expert testimony of two experts, including Dr. Harvey Kliman at trial, and by failing to raise sufficiency of the evidence on direct appeal.
