Area art lovers get warm welcome on cool night during event
Longview — Chilly temperatures pushed downtown Longview’s ArtWalk indoors Thursday — and art lovers followed.
“We’ve performed in extreme weather before, and it doesn’t seem to dampen our spirits,” said 19-year-old Megan Stebens, who with the rest of the ArtsView Encore Players decided their audience might warm to them better inside the Longview Museum of Fine Arts than at the outdoor Sculpture Garden a block away.
There was actual, live sculpting occurring in the art museum, anyway, along with free-hand painting by Hallsville High School students enjoying a relaxed scene before heading to state competition this weekend in Bryan.
