Assange fighting extradition back to Sweden
LONDON - According to the Associated Press, the founder of secret-spilling website WikiLeaks is due back in court as part of his fight to avoid being extradited to Sweden.
Swedish authorities are seeking 39-year-old Julian Assange for questioning on sex crimes allegations in a case that has divided world opinion. Assange and his supporters say the case is being prosecuted for
political reasons, something denied by Swedish authorities and Assange's alleged victims.
Protests are scheduled to coincide with the hearing Tuesday at London's high-security Belmarsh Magistrates' Court.
Also Tuesday, Assange released a statement calling for the prosecution of those in the United States who have called for him to be put to death.
