Astrodome probably soon nothing more than memories
Houston — As evidenced by the number of people who began lining up at 5 a.m. Saturday outside the Astrodome to buy memorabilia, the almost half-century old stadium is a cherished part of Houston’s history.
Voters now have most likely consigned the Astrodome to history.
By a 53 percent to 47 percent margin, Harris County voters rejected a $217 million plan that would have converted the stadium into an event and exhibition space.
