Authorities asking for public's help finding accused murderer

Marshall authorities have requested the public's help in catching the alleged gunman in a weekend murder.

On Sunday at around 2:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to Rumors Arcade, in the 100 block of West Pinecrest, on reports of a shooting.

When police arrived, they found a man, Jalen Juwan White, 19, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.

After further investigation, the suspect was identified as Corey Lamar Johnson, 31, of Jefferson. A warrant was issued by Judge Nancy George, Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 for the charge of murder. 

The Marshall Police Department is asking anyone who was at the Rumors Arcade and has information about the above listed incident to contact Lt. Patrick Clayton at 903-935- 4546 or 903-935-4540 and any calls after hours may be directed to MPD Dispatch at 903-935-4575.

The Marshall Police Department is also still asking if anyone has seen Johnson  to contact the Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at the above listed numbers as well. 

The investigation is on going.
