Authorities have released the names of those persons injured in Monday's major crash involving a Spring Hill ISD bus.

Public Information Officer Kristi Brian said Marion Stephens, 86, of Longview, was seriously hurt in the accident and hospitalized with life-threatening injures on Monday. James Krutza, 82, of Longview, was also taken by private vehicle after the crash. Their current conditions are not being released following a request by KETK, however, police did say Stephens is expected to live.

The accident took place at Spring Hill Road and McCann in Longview. According to the Longview Police Department, the driver of the school bus failed to yield the right-of-way striking a pickup truck. The truck that was hit by the bus then flew across the road and hit another truck.

The driver of the bus, school mechanic Bartha Benton, was uninjured and will be cited for failure to yield, along with being suspended from his position at SHISD. School administrators confirmed Benton passed his toxicology test.

No children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
