Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann pans to enter the GOP presidential race today with an announcement n her childhood hometown of Waterloo, Iowa.

Iowa is where a recent poll suggests that Bachmann will be a strong force. The poll released by The Des Moines register has Mitt Romney with 23 percent support and Bachmann with a close 22 percent. Those surveyed are Republicans likely to take part in the Iowa caucuses.

In an interview Sunday with The Associated Press, Bachmann said her bid to unseat President Barack Obama shouldn't be viewed as "anything personal" against the Democrat. She says he's "just wrong" on his policies for America.

Bachmann says voters can expect her to propose cuts to corporate taxes and phase-outs of taxes on inheritances and investment earnings, along with a repeal of unspecified environmental regulations.
