Atlanta’s 2012 Hoot N’ Holler festival will not include a sanctioned barbecue cook-off this year, but instead Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce directors and volunteers will focus on a new and bigger festival that includes more local involvement and events.

A festival committee met Thursday at the chamber office and decided the chamber could not afford the cost of the International Barbecue Cookers Association (IBCA)-sanctioned event, according to Lisa Thompson, chamber president.
