Fire 100% contained

Lufkin — The Lufkin Daily News reports local pilots took some of the paper's journalists over the blackened and browned acreage that once was "The Bearing Fire."

Photographs and accounts tell of where the fire started and spread. A great deal of the acreage touched by flames was owned by forestry people who grew and harvested loblolly pine.
