Old NASA photos show the rough equipment that began the space race

The Houston Chronicle is reporting; NASA had to crawl before it could spacewalk, let alone go to the Moon, and in a batch of pictures from the space agency's Flickr page you can see that NACA (or the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics as it was first called in 1915) had lots of work to do before even thinking about even reaching the furthest parts of our atmosphere.
