Texas (KETK) — Classroom instruction to obtain a concealed handgun license was cut from at least 10 hours to no more than six hours under a bill on its way to the governor.
House Bill 47 would still require the training to include gun safety, storage, and dispute resolution. It would also require a firing range test.
The bill now heads to Governor Perry's desk for consideration.
The paper reports that he is expected to sign the bill.
