Black Friday crowds shop Tyler

Hundreds rushed the malls today, hoping to find the perfect gift at the perfect price this holiday season. And even as daylight drew to a close, stores were still packed at Broadway Square Mall, with shoppers preparing to do whatever it takes to get the best deal.

Stores opened extra early to give shoppers ample time to hunt for the lowest prices, and of course to find that coveted parking spot.

But one shopper we spoke with said... the lines and the crowds.... were just too much for her to handle.

"The parking lot was full, and we went in and were going to get a game, and the lines were so long we stood there for a while and decided it wasn't worth, it so we put the item back and left," said shopper, Donella Jackson.

And even though stores were open earlier than normal today, mall officials said all stores will be closed tonight by 9:00, sharp.

It seems that every store crowded with people, as all of them are looking for something to give for their love ones. Holiday season is a great opportunity to save while you shop, but considering your spending is still vital. A great way to keep your holiday shopping under control is to use cash instead of plastic, which also applies to a debit card. When you are using a card, you do not realize how much you are spending without a concrete and visual reminder. As you are shopping, you do not have this visual reminder of how much you are spending. If you have cash in your wallet, you have a good idea of how much you spend from the disappearing bills.
