TEXAS — About $60 million worth of coastal restoration projects to be paid for by British petroleum giant BP PLC are about to begin in every Gulf Coast state except Texas.
Eight projects are set in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida — the initial step toward BP fulfilling its obligation under federal law to fund the complete restoration of natural resources affected by the massive Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010.
