Brad Maule Continues Success In The Classroom
NACOGDOCHES — You may not realize it, but there are a lot of celebrities living right here in East Texas.
One of them— you may have watched on TV for years.
His name is Brad Maule.
Maule says, "I knew I was born different. I knew I wanted to perform."
That drive to perform— took Brad Maule from West Texas to Nacogdoches.
Maule says, "I just picked it out on a map, saw the school and came here."
Here — is Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas' oldest city.
That's where he found his calling.
From there— he made it big.
Maule says, "I've been on "Charlie's Angels", "To Close for Comfort", "Three's Company" and on and on and on... "
And don't forget— General Hospital.
Maule performed as Dr. Tony Jones for 22 years.
So, after many years, Maule made his way "back home" and ends up at the campus of SFA.
Maule says, "I just fell in love with it— again."
Maule is now what he calls "a Lecturer" at SFA.
From the classrooms where he learned his craft, he now teaches kids what he knows best— how to act.
Maule says, "I honestly didn't think I'd be a teacher. I didn't know how to teach. It just sort of happened. Now, it's become one of the most important things to ever happen in my life."
Kwaku Hemeng says, "The class is great. Never a dull moment."
Hemeng is a Junior— a cinematography major— with big dreams.
Hemeng says, "I want to get into editing. But like everyone else, I would like to direct and write a couple screenplays."
Maule says, "All these people graduate from here, and they all have giant careers. They're out and doing things."
Making a big name for themselves— just like Maule continues to do.
Maule says, "Probably for the first time in my life—— what's next is what's now for me."
Maule tells us, aside from teaching at SFA, he keeps busy.
He hosts his own radio talk show every morning on KSFA 860.
