A massive fire at an abandoned warehouse in Jacksonville kept firefighters busy for several hours today.

The fire started around 10 this morning at the Grimes Waterworks Building on Highway 69 North.

The owner says the building has been vacant as the company was in the process of making renovations. He says there has been problems with vandalism and unauthorized use in the past. The owner said with all the suspicious activity, a fire was something he worried about.

It is unknown what the damage value will be in terms as it is still under investigation.
