Burn ban takes toll on local business
TYLER - With the dry weather all across East Texas, one local business owner is struggling to cope with the recent burn bans.
Experts say they believe the burn bans wont be leaving for quite some time and the heat index and low precipitation are putting several counties in a difficult position.
They also say when burn bans go into effect, businesses who burn items on a regular basis, must seriously alter the way their work is done.
James Houser, a consulting forester in Jacksonville say the recent burn bans have put them in a tight spot.
"It pretty well limits what we can do as far as some prescribed burning, we can't do any of that but more importantly our logging operations in the field we have to be much more careful of the equipment."
