Businesses’ success celebrated at Longview Chamber of Commerce banquet
Longview — The economic engines of greater Longview gathered for a collective handshake Tuesday, nearly 600 strong celebrating a year of commerce at the 2014 Longview Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet.
“We came here and started up with 13 people, and we now employ approximately 300 people,” said Malcolm Clevenstine, co-owner of heavy equipment maker and rebuilder WarFab, which he and Mary Smith opened near Hallsville in 1995.
Clevenstine and Smith were at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center to network, but also to accept the chamber’s award as 2013 Large Business of the Year.
