There’s probably nothing more gut wrenching than walking into a parking lot and finding your car or truck stolen.
Well one automaker has been particularly vulnerable, and is trying to change that.
Yeah, and that missing vehicle frustration is no doubt even worse when your truck costs north of $50-grand.
Such was the case with the Cadillac Escalade.
So, the guys at General Motors have set out to make that car thief’s job a little tougher.
Let’s start with the basics. Now anti-theft system is perfect.
Even though banks have guards and cameras, they keep getting robbed.
So it is with vehicles.
But for Cadillac, this headline from the Highway Loss Data Institute is one they’d like to avoid in the future.
Yeah, the Escalade luxury SUV is the most stolen vehicle in the country.
To be fair, both Ford and Chrysler also have cars and trucks on the list, but Caddy is number one.
And number one on this list is not a good thing.
So they have designed what is described as the most advanced theft deterrence system in the industry.
They’ve tried to anticipate all the ways an Escalade can be jacked up, jump started, towed or flatbedded away.
Of course, it will still happen but maybe when you walk out of Nieman’s with an armload of excess, the Caddy will still be there.
