Jack Stallard is the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.

Longview's Chris Davis had a breakthrough season last year.

He was the top vote getter at the All-Star Game.

He led the majors in home runs and runs batted in.

Can the former Longview Lobo do it again?

Stallard told KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner that Davis can because of his consistency.

Stallard said...

"Last year he was so consistent at the plate. He didn't have any prolonged slumps. Two years ago he might have gone a week without a hit.

Last year I don't recall more than a couple of games in a row where he went hitless. Then he'd pick it up again. Just a great year.

I don't see him hitting 53 home runs and driving in 138 every year.

But if he can keep it around 40 homers and drive in 120, I think Baltimore will be very happy with this young man. He can put together another solid season."
