TYLER - The four remaining Republican Candidates battled it out in South Carolina for the states final debate before Saturday's primary.

The first question on the night was about Gingrich's ex wife who recently spoke to ABC about their failed marriage.

The debate followed on the heels of several other big stories.

Perry backed out of the race and endorsed Gingrich.

Rick Santorum won the the Iowa Caucus.

Then there was Romney, questioned on his tax records, and weather he would follow his fathers lead and release several years of records.

To Joanne Flemming with Grassroots America we the people, with candidates dropping out, and the field slimming down, debates like this, will only continue as the remaining four seek the republican nomination.

"This is the time when primary candidates are supposed to duke it out now, hopefully they stay away from personal attacks and focus on records and on positions on policy."

The CNN's first question for Gingrich was waaay out of line! His answer was spot on, and his retort was great!... News media now goes way too far in their quest to shock us into watching their perticular network! When I took journalism in the 50's, this was referred to as "yellow journalism"! It would be great if more people being interviewed would take the same stance that Gingrich did! The Networks need to be more responsible in chosing their questions, and should learn a lesson from this.
