Car burglar busted in the act

On March 28, 2010 at around 8:30 a.m., Longview Officers were dispatched to Albert Sullivan’s Used Cars at 701 West Cotton Street for a report of a vehicle burglary in progress. A witness reported to dispatchers that a subject had been opening the doors to vehicles on the car lot without permission and that the subject was also opening the vehicle hoods as well.
Officers arrived and detained Wallace Smith (date of birth 6-2-1969 of Kilgore), who was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, a stolen car stereo and prescription drugs that were not prescribed to him.
It was determined that Smith had entered two different vehicles at the car lot and was arrested for burglary of a motor vehicle (Class A misdemeanor), theft (Class B misdemeanor) and possession of a dangerous drug (Class
A misdemeanor). Smith was booked into the Gregg County Jail.
