This time of year, bass tournaments are held all across East Texas, but one Jacksonville bait shop is holding a month long competition for the fish who tend to enjoy the bottom of the lake.

Bill Knous, better known as Uncle Bill, opened Uncle Bill's Bait and Catfish back in October.

He is now holding his first ever catfish tournament all April long.

Anglers have the opportunity to reel in catfish from four major area lakes, and can win money for the biggest fish, as well as the biggest string of fish.

Knous said he started this competition because he just loves fishing for catfish, but says it also gives people who do not have a normal work schedule a chance to participate.

The cost to enter is $30, and the event will end on the 30th.

Each week, you can catch fish from one of the four lakes on the list, and with two weeks left that means only two lakes remain.

To get more information, contact Uncle Bill at (903) 948-9038.

Weigh-ins will take place daily at his place of business on Dialville Highway in Jacksonville.

He says feel from to give him a call in the morning, but no later than 8:00 PM.
