Darth Vader strikes again
Police in Ferndale, Michigan are looking for the man who entered a convenience store Monday, slipped on a Darth Vader mask and robbed the attendant at knifepoint.
Authorities said the holdup happened about 1:35 a.m. Monday at the Get & Go store in the Detroit suburb north-northwest of Detroit.
"This is one of the world's dumbest criminals," said Ferndale police in a press release.
The Ferndale police said the unassuming thief's significant mistake before the hold-up will make it much easier to catch him.
The man's face is clearly captured on surveillance video as he enters the store and is seen slipping on the famous Star Wars disguise.
The store's state of the art surveillance cameras continued to roll as he pulled a butcher knife from his pocket and demanded money from the attendant.
"He sticks the knife right in my face and says give me all your money right now," said the attendant who did not want to be identified.
The robber fled the store on foot after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police describe the suspect as a white male, 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, with dark hair and a goatee.
He was wearing a blue V-neck sweater with a gray T-shirt and dark pants.
