The video was captured by Air One, a helicopter operated by the police department.

Police said the video shows Stanley Wayne Robertson driving along Highway 287, making a U-turn and then starting to drive the wrong way along the highway.

But that part of the chase didn't last long. Police said Robertson crashed head-on into an officer's cruiser after he turned around during the police pursuit.

The officer had pulled over on the shoulder after the pilot aboard Air One saw Robertson turn around.

"At that point, the suspect vehicle came northbound in the southbound lanes at a high rate of speed and basically drove right at the officer that was pulled over on the shoulder and hit him head on," Sgt. Pedro Criado said Saturday.

The officer's cruiser burst into flames, police said.

Investigators have not said if the officer was burned.

College Station police had advised Fort Worth police that Robertson, 42, might be in the Fort Worth area.

Police said Robertson had sent a text message to a friend on Friday saying he had kidnapped the mother of his former girlfriend.

Fort Worth police found the body of Anne Toliver, 59, behind a shopping center west of downtown Fort Worth before 5 a.m.

Officer Kerry Gober was seriously injured in the crash, along with Robertson.

Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Gober was released from the hospital on Sunday.

Robertson remained in the hospital Monday under police guard on a aggravated kidnapping warrant from College Station.

According to the Fort Worth police department, College Station police will also pursue a capital murder charge against Robertson in connection with Toliver's death.

That's not a head on, it's a T-bone!

Glad the officer was alright. Sorry that he had to go through that.
