A controversial Cherokee County Commissioner gets some good news after a long investigation.
All of this for what under normal circumstances, would be nothing worse than a difference of opinion.
But in today’s political climate, nothing is that simple.
Now, a grand jury has said, no, actually it is .
It’s all about a road called Patterson, and a request to Precinct 3 Commissioner Katherine Pinotti to do something about it.
Cherokee County said it was a private road, and cannot be maintained by county funds. Pinotti said, her research shows it’s mislabeled and is actually county road 3427.
That triggered an investigation. The Sheriff’s Department went to Pinotti’s county office and seized her computer and other records.
The evidence they found was presented to the District Attorney and in turn to a grand jury.
But in the end, the grand jury simply didn’t see enough proof, and Pinotti was no-billed.
She sees it as vindication.
Pinotti says she can continue to work with her fellow commissioners despite the almost year’s worth of condemnation.
She says it might get a bit frosty though.
