GLADEWATER - Smith County Department of Public Safety officials confirm they are responding to a wreck on Highway 271, South of County Road 3110.

Troopers say a child was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital. Scanner traffic indicates the wreck happened when a car hit an embankment. Reportedly, the child was in a booster seat that became detached somehow.
