City of Longview recognized for their Citizen Request and Work Order Applications

The City of Longview has been recognized for their Citizen Request and Work Order Applications.

The Texas Association of Government Information Technology Managers have recently recognized Longview for improving internal operations, providing exceptional customer service, and enhancing communications. 

Longview was recognized with the "Excellence Award" for outstanding innovation and application for leading edge computing and communication technologies for its implementation of CitySend.

CitySend was launched in February of 2012. It is an online and mobile service request system that can be used on a desktop computer, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, or Windows mobile device. Residents can identify issues, upload a photo or video of the concern, mark the location on a map, and report it to the city.

Each request is provided a unique tracking number so the user is able to see when the action is take.

CitySend also has a news feature that provides feed of the City of Longview news.

In addition, the City of Longview was recognized by Azteca Systems with the distinguished Cityworks Exemplary User Award. Cityworks is the Geographic information System based work order management system that is used in many city departments and integrates with CitySend.

Longview was recognized for innovative and intelligent applications of Cityworks, further empowering GIS for their community.
