City of Palestine to hold General Election on May 10

In accordance with the Texas Election Code, the City of Palestine will hold a General
Election on May 10, 2014.

  • Races on the General Election Ballot-
  • City Councilmember - District 1
  • City Councilmember - District 3
  • City Councilmember - District 4 (to fill an unexpired term which will expire May 2015)
  • City Councilmember - District 5

The term of office for positions in District 1, 3, 5 is two years from May 2014 to May
2016.

A special election will be held in conjunction with the General Election for the unexpired
term in District 4.

Early Voting by personal appearance will be conducted each weekday at City Hall, 504 N.
Queen Street, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. beginning on Mon., April 28, 2014 and ending on Tues.,
May 6, 2014. Extended hours are available only on Tues., April 29 and Tues., May 6, from
7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Sat., May 10, 2014 is Election Day for the City of Palestine. The following polling locations
will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for voting:
District 1 – Freedom Fellowship Church, 125 Kickapoo
District 4 - Westwood Jr. High School, 1801 Panther Drive

A sample ballot will be available Tues., March 11 at 3 p.m. on the City website:
www.cityofpalestinetx.com
