The city of Tyler is already helping cleanup neighborhoods that were hit hard by the strong winds Saturday night.

Through Friday, the Tyler Solid Waste Department will have crews picking up piles of branches that are left near the curb.

And since the storm was so swift, they will pick up piles of branches that are eight feet long or less.

Usually, the city requires branches to be cut to four feet, and the limbs be bound.

Now once again, the piles need to be close to the curb.

The city's main concern is public property, so any trees or debris that are on private property will not be picked up by the department.
