Join the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department for a Women’s Self Defense Clinic on July 28 at the Glass Recreation Center, located at 501 W. 32nd St. This event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be taught by Alex Jones, a fourth degree black belt in Go’Ju-Ryu Karate.

“In today’s world, there is no reason why women should not be equipped with information when self-defense classes are available to help them become prepared,” said Ann Santana. “With proper training, you will reduce your chances of being attacked and learn techniques to help against an attacker of any size.”

Students will also learn other practical ways to avoid many potentially dangerous situations. With practice, these techniques will be easy to remember and use.

The cost is $25 per person and is available for women ages 14 and up. For more information or to register, please call the Glass Recreation Center at (903) 595-7271.
