Several offices across Tyler will be closed due to the Thanksgiving holiday.  There will also be a change in the garbage collection days, as well as a change in airline schedules for Tyler Pounds Regional Airport.

Officials tell us that city offices in Tyler will observe the Thanksgiving holiday schedule on Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November  26th.

The Tyler Solid Waste office and the Tyler Recycling Center will be closed on Thursday and those who have their garbage collected on Thursday will have their garbage collected on Wednesday.  Here's a schedule that will be set up for this week:

Monday, November 22nd: Regular Collection
Tuesday, November 23rd: Regular Collection
Wednesday, November 24th: Routes Normally Collected Thursday
Thursday, November 25th: No Collection
Friday, November 26th: Regular Collection

Crews will collect as much curb trash and yard waste as time allows.  Due to garbage being collected on November 24th subscription curbside recycling customers are asked to leave their recycling out until it is picked up.  This may take until end of business day on Friday.

Tyler Pounds Regional Airport will be open through the holiday, but will close at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday due to reduced holiday flight schedules.  Airport administrative offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday.  For any questions or concerns, log on to their website: www.TylerAirport.com

The Tyler Public Library will also be closed on November 25th and November 26th.  The Library will resume normal hours on Saturday, November 27th.  As for the Tyler Transit Schedule, there will be no fixed-route or paratransit service on Thursday or Friday with services will resume on Saturday.
 

Other offices closing for the Thanksgiving holiday is Gallery Main Street.  The Gallery will resume normal hours on Monday, November 29th.  The Tyler Parks & Recreation administrative offices and the Senior Citizens Center will be closed also on Thursday and Friday and will both resume normal hours on next Monday.

Starting today, the Glass Recreation Center will be closed through Wednesday for maintenance and will be closed for the holiday through Saturday.  Normal business hours resume on Monday.  Also, the Goodman Museum will be closed from Thursday through Monday and will resume normal hours next Tuesday.

Finally, the Tyler Water Utilities Business Office will be closed on Thursday Friday.  The Water Business Office drive through will be closing at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
