Cleanup begins after Friday downpours; burn bans lifted
Longview — A large oak tree leaned over the koi pond in Robert Beasley’s front yard on Monday, where it fell when it crashed about 10 p.m. Friday.
It wasn’t the wind, Beasley believed, that felled the old tree. It was the unrelenting rain.
Beasley, who lives on Judson Rd. north of Longview, said he had almost seven inches of rain in his gauge from the storm that came in Thursday night, rained throughout Friday and drizzled out early Saturday.
