Closed Tyler swimming facility poses possible safety hazards

Tyler, TX (KETK) — Apple Swim & Fitness in Tyler has been shut down since August, due to the owner being arrested for prescription fraud.
During that time, the property has fallen into major disrepair, with garbage littering the area, stray cats roaming the yard, and the pool water stagnant in it's container.
The gates have been locked up, but some have been opened up, and the pool area can easily by accessed at the back of the property.
NET Heath in Tyler tells KETK they are working closely with Zion National Bank, who currently owns the property, and they say they have turned on the pumps in the pool to move the water around, so that the mosquitos won't become more of a problem.
KETK also spoke with a local contractor, who was taking picture of the area for Zion, to give them an estimate on what needed to be done to repair the facility.
It seems as though measures are being taken to bring the area back up to speed, but as long as it sits unmanned and unsecured, it could be a problem for the neighbors nearby.
