A disabled Iraq war veteran helped by his community is paying it forward by modifying or building homes for his military comrade

CNN — After losing his legs in Iraq, Dale Beatty's community helped build him a home to thank him for his service.

To pay it forward, he and his war buddy founded Purple Heart Homes.

Since 2008, they've modified or helped provide homes for 17 disabled veterans.
