Colby Lewis returns after nearly two years

Arlington (KETK) — Colby Lewis had elbow surgery two years ago.
He had hip replacement surgery last year.
Either one of them could have ended his career.
But Monday night in Arlington, Colby Lewis beat the odds.
The veteran right-hander returned to the mound for the first time in 21 months.
Lewis started against the Seattle Mariners.
He was sharp early.
He retired the Mariners on just 10 pitches in his first inning back.
Lewis had three strikeouts in his first two innings.
But he ran into trouble in the top of the fifth.
He gave up a home run in that fifth inning.
Lewis left the game with one out in the sixth.
He gave up four runs in a little over five innings.
Lewis allowed eight hits.
He threw 89 pitches, 51 for strikes.
Lewis had a total of four strikeouts and no walks.
He and the Rangers lost to Seattle, 7-1.
