TYLER-It was a mystery that grabbed headlines in East Texas back in 2006. A 23-year-old woman practically vanished from a Longview nightclub. Now several years later, a case that went cold could potentially heat back up.
Brandi Mills, 23, was last seen at the Longview nightclub, Graham Central Station, back in August 2006. Six days later, her car was found abandoned along I-20 and Highway 31 with her cell phone still inside.
After months of searching, no solid clues were ever found.
"I've never given up hope," Brandi's mom Ellen Tant told KETK.
After several years, this past Sunday, something happened.
A man named Tim called Mrs. Tant and said he was with Brandi the night she disappeared. He told her that Brandi was still alive and living in Kansas City, Missouri and that he had a contact number. But a few moments later when Mrs. Tant jumped up to find something to write with, she heard nothing from the other side of the phone.
Tant says the man never called back.
"If she is alive that's my best hope, but I want to know that for a fact and then I'll call of the dogs. But until I get that, those dogs are going to stay out there," she said.
Mrs. Tant is pleading for this man or anyone else who knows something, big or small, that could help find Brandi to call the Longview Police Department right away.
