Grassroots America and FreedomWorks kicked off their East Texas Region's Come and Take it campaign.

Grassroots is working with conservative groups all over the state.

They are partnering with FreedomWorks to encourage people to keep involved and keep traditional and conservative values in Texas.

Grassroots director for FreedomWorks Whitney Neal traveled to Texas from Washington D.C.

Their goal is to educate people on who Battleground Texas is and why FreedomWorks wants to work with citizens in Texas.

Neal says FreedomWorks wants to counteract their efforts and keep Texas from turning blue.

Battleground Texas is a group of democratic activists who moved to this state to make Texas a battleground for 2014.

Neal says Texas is a low voter turnout state.

Neal says the conservatives need to come together, knock on some doors and make some phone calls and veer Texas away from the left.

"And we are trying to describe to people what that looks like when our side is not turning out the vote and the left shows up and they are turning out a very excited vote in the next few years so it can kind of really change the landscape politically here in Texas."

"Grassroots director for FreedomWorks Whitney Neal traveled to Texas from Washington D.C." LOL. And got on a plane and went right back to the beltway bubble, I assume. The irony.
