East Texans go back in time for family fun
TROUP — The Four Winds Renaissance Faire started today just south of Tyler.
If you've never been to a "Ren Faire," it's like a blast from the past from the minute you walk through the gates.
You get transported back into mid-evil times with jousting, belly dancing, period food, magic shows, even rats got in on the fun.
...one of the shows was called "Cirque de Sewer" - featuring tight-rope-walking rats.
Dustin Stephens heads up the faire that's been going for the past 17 years.
"It's a local festival, we want to have as many people, local artists and so forth come out and be apart of the faire. [It's] good for the community - we expect to bring anywhere from 10 - 20,000 people into the East Texas area over our 8-week run. We run Saturdays and Sundays through April 24th," Stephens said.
Join us tonight at 10, we'll have a lot more on this story. In the meantime, click here to visit the "Four Winds" website.
