Longview, TX (KETK) — The first public CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) fueling station will open in Longview later this spring.

Independence Fuel Systems of Longview will open the first of three CNG stations in April along Eastman Road near Interstate 20. The station will be located next to the Texas Best Smokehouse and Gas Station and behind the Denny's that is currently being built.

The company plans to open two other stations by the end of 2013. Those locations will be on Interstate 20 and Highway 42 in Kilgore and Highway 59 and the loop in Carthage.
