Constable: 200-300 acres on fire near Overton

Raw footage of the fire is attached take a look at just how massive it is.


Officials say the fire has spread deep into the woods and is climbing trees.

Firefighters are protecting structures, waiting for the fire to come to them.

No injuries have been reported and no evacuations have been made.


Overton, Kilgore and New London firefighters are on the scene.

The blaze is threatening to destroy a cemetery.


A constable tells KETK the fire was started by a hay bailer on County Road 1115.

Firefighters first received a call for help at around 1 p.m.

So far, about 200 to 300 acres have burned.


Overton fire officials tell KETK at least one house is burning with a possibility of several more.

The houses are located on FM 1639 near Highway 31 in a wooded area, which makes it easier for the fire to spread.

Firefighters have been battling the blaze for more than 2 hours.

KETK has  a crew en route and will bring you more information as it becomes available.
