TYLER — These triple digit, record breaking temps are having a big effect on everything these days.
Including-- animals at the zoo.
The folks at Caldwell Zoo in Tyler spend everyday cooling off nearly 2-thousand of their animals.
They tell KETK, they make sure each animals has cool water, a lot of shade, additional fans, and in some cases-- A/C units.
The animals also get specially-made popsicles.
For example-- the otters and bears get fish pops, the cats get bloodsicles and the birds get frozen seeds.
Officials tell KETK, because it's so hot, the best time to see the animals is either in the early morning or at night.
That's when they're most active.
