Cops and Cuffs: August 16, 2009

LUFKIN - Lufkin police say a man reported about two weeks ago, he had given a friend a ride, but decided to stop off at his house to change clothes.

A few minutes later, he walked outside to see his friend driving off in his truck.

The man's friend was arrested in Dallas, and his truck is in impound.

Also in Lufkin, a man reported that while he was inside a store shopping, someone broke out his driver's side window and stole his stereo, speakers, and a credit card from his car parked in the store's parking lot.

Two males were recorded on the business's security camera committing the crime.

Finally, Lufkin police say a woman reported she turned onto Tower Lane from Oakwood, when a vehicle that had been following her extremely closely, passed her, striking her vehicle several times.

A woman was later arrested for public intoxication by a sheriff's deputy. She admitted to leaving the scene of the crash.
