Country music celebration brings singers, songwriters to Carthage
Carthage — Although the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame didn’t induct any new members this year, the annual country music celebration Saturday night still attracted a bevy of well-known performers.
The reason no members were inducted this year is there is no room in the museum for new exhibits, said Tommie Ritter Smith, president of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.
That’s a problem that will be remedied soon, as a museum expansion recently was approved. The existing facility has 2,670 square feet. The new addition will either have 2,000 or 2,300 more square feet, depending on the plan that’s adopted.
