CPS takes custody of children after two-year-old burned
CPS has taken custody of a toddler and her two siblings after her feet were severely burned by hot water in a bathtub in her parents' Tyler home.
The two-year-old girl was taken to ETMC last Tuesday by ambulance, and later transferred to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where her burns were treated. The child was released from Parkland Hospital on Tuesday (March 6, 2012) and remanded into CPS custody.
CPS is conducting an investigation and has placed all three children into foster care, although no charges have been filed against the parents in the incident. Tyler Police are also investigating the incident.
The CPS investigation can take up to 60 days to complete.
